A Quality Online Program Designed for the Real World

Next Start Date:   Monday, September 16, 2013 (Registration deadline:  Wednesday, September 11, 2013)

At Waterloo, we understand the pressures of combining continuing education with a professional career, which is why the Certificate in Project Leadership is available entirely online. And, as a recognized leader in online learning and delivery, we believe there’s no better place to undertake an online program of study than the University of Waterloo.

Why Project Management at Waterloo?

Ranked “best overall” and “most innovative” among Canada’s comprehensive universities by Maclean’s magazine, University of Waterloo provides cutting-edge program delivery systems, technology and support. Further, Waterloo has more than ten years’ experience in delivering project management educational programs.

Available only through Canada's Most Innovative University: As business globalization continues to expand and competition intensifies, organizations are embarking on increasingly complex projects that need to be completed faster, come in on budget and be of the highest quality. Effective project leaders are becoming more and more central to organizational performance and survival. Alarmingly, however, research continues to tell us that project failure remains all too common. While process has long-been considered the cornerstone of effective project management, at the University of Waterloo, we believe process competence alone is not enough.

We know that projects need to be led, not just managed. That’s why we developed the Certificate in Project Leadership. A first in Canada, it uniquely provides the knowledge and techniques that transform good project managers into truly effective and successful project leaders.

Our unique focus on project leadership education sets ours apart from other offerings and provides our students with a real advantage – the holistic, “rounding out” of the project manager, transforming him or her into an effective project leader.

Students need only a computer and Internet access to participate. Throughout the 13-week program, students collaborate on graded group activites, such as case studies, and access weekly online audio lectures.
